About Us
Jon D. Rigney, Attorney Mr. Rigney has been practicing law in San Diego for eighteen years. He is a December 1991 Graduate of the University of San Diego, School of Law and has been licensed to practice law in California since June of 1992. His primary area of practice throughout his career has been Family Law and associated issues. Mr. Rigney also holds a Baccalaureate degree, with honors, from the University of California at San Diego. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Rigney is involved in the local community, including past contributions of his time to the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program and the San Diego Superior Court. He is a member of the Family Law Section of the San Diego Bar Association, a published author, and holds numerous additional honors and awards.
Mr. Rigney was recently recognized as one of "San Diego's Top Attorneys for 2010," in the family law category, by The San Diego Daily Transcript legal newspaper. |

Sandy Meade, Esq.
Attorney Sandy L. Meade is a 1999 graduate of Western Sierra Law School and has been associated with the Law Offices of Jon D. Rigney since 2006. She is also a 1985 graduate of Robert Morris College. Ms. Meade is admitted to practice in all Calfornia courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. She was recently recognized for excellence by being named among "San Diego's Top Attorneys for 2010," in the family law category, by The San Diego Daily Transcript legal newspaper.
Although she has been a licensed attorney for over 10 years, Ms. Meade started her legal career approximately 20 years ago as a legal secretary. A passion to learn the full range of legal rights and protections afforded all of us led her to law school. Ms. Meade's empathy, perspective and earnest desire to empower clients and help them move forward led her to focus her energies in family law. The wisdom of her choice is reflected in the many expressions of gratitude that she has received from her clients.
Ms. Meade is a member of the California State Bar and San Diego County Bar Association; president and member of the Sigma Delta Kappa Legal Fraternity-Kappa Phi Chapter; former member National Association of Counsel for Children and the National Notary Association. She also supports a number of charitable and social organizations including, but not limited to, Hope Landing, Inc., an organization focused on empowering disabled children; American Cancer Society; Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research; Muscular Dystrophy Association; Goodwill and San Diego Zoo, Walk on the Wild Side conservation projects. Ms. Meade also participates in the San Diego Vintage Dance Society. |

Heather Trogus, Paralegal
Ms. Trogus is a graduate of the University of San Diego Paralegal Program and has attended Grossmont College. Ms. Trogus has been an employee of the Law Offices of Jon D. Rigney for eleven years, dealing exclusively with all aspects of Family Law and related issues.
Ms. Trogus also attained the title of Notary Public in 1998. She is familiar with all aspects of the dissolution process, including paternity issues, stepparent adoption and has been the lead paralegal on several contested matters including child custody and visitation issues. |

Cerrisa Cavin, Office Administrator
Our office administrator, Cerrisa Cavin, first worked for the Law Offices of Jon D. Rigney in year 2000. A native of San Diego County, Ms. Cavin is a 2005 graduate of Humbolt State University with a degree in Women's Studies. In 2008, Ms. Cavin completed the Paralegal Generalist curriculum at the University of San Diego School of Law.
Her organizational skills and attention to detail assure that client communications, confidentiality and a smooth flow of information are maintained, thus allowing our attorneys and support staff to concentrate on resolving the challenging legal issues that family law cases present. Her patience and empathy have won the respect of many of our clients during what are often difficult periods of life presented by litigation. Ms. Cavin is an avid sportswoman and is the proud mother of her horses, Brooklyn and Romeo. |
